Schematic Capture Program

During our National Service in the Navy, we wrote a schematic capture program to document the Z80 designs that became part of a masters thesis. The diagrams need to be scanned in from the thesis, but to save on broken links, we will update this page later.

The program was written in Basic for a Tektronix graphics computer in 1980 and 1981. We wrote several programs to make decent diagrams before the many CAD programs became available. To give an idea of the constraints, there were two eight-inch floppy drives that stored 360 kBytes. The boards were laid out by hand, so there was no output to a layout program, it was simply for documentation.
